From the popular blog My Modern Cookery comes, Cyber Soup.
Come and sip on some piping hot soup with me.
Welcome to Cyber Soup
Allow me to introduce myself to those who don’t already know me. My name is Paige, and my recipe blog, My Modern Cookery, has been my brainchild nearing almost 10 years. When I first started it post culinary school, my plan for having a blog was to have it be a creative outlet where I could combine my two passions, writing and cooking.
Over the years, as blogging became a viable career option for myself and many others, so too came SEO, ad placement, sponsored posts, and a myriad of other bits that come with running a blog. Having to write a blog post with great SEO means very little personality and no writing for funsies, just recipe information to make you rank higher on Google.
While I LOVE my blog still and will be continuing to post over there and on its social media, I feel like I have more to share outside of the walls of keywords and backlinks.
That’s where Cyber Soup comes in.
Who exactly am I pandering to here?
There is nary a soul that Cyber Soup is not for. Are you a sweet grannie who wants to know why your granddaughter is suddenly obsessed with caviar?
Are you a corporate Gen Z that’s just learning how to cook and wants approachable recipes you can make in your tiny apartment?
Are you a millennial like me who is in the thick of your career and/or family life and don’t have time to keep up on social media?
If you’re any of those things and more, welcome to the Cyber Soup community.
What will you get out of this newsletter?
I’ll send out two weekly emails - no more, no less.
One of those emails will come on Wednesday and will be free for everyone.
This email will include:
IYKYN, but if you don’t, here you go! For those who don’t know (haha), IYKYK means “If you know, you know”. This section of the Wednesday newsletter will be all of the piping-hot food trends of the week straight from the oven. We’ll talk about any food-related holidays coming up, creators you need to look out for, and what my favorite pieces of content were for the week.
You’ll also get a sneaky peek at the recipe to come on Sunday. My bet is that you’re going to want to go ahead and upgrade to a paid subscription to get all of that good good.
The next email will arrive on Sunday for paid members and will include:
A mouth-watering recipe just for you, developed by moi, based on a trending piece of food content of the week. For example, the photo above is a pasta recipe based on Hailey Beiber’s pizza toast that went viral. Get my drift?
What I ate this week - This is not a comprehensive list of every bite that went into my mouth, but I do find it helpful to see what people are eating in their real lives on the daily, and why. I’m currently hyper-fixated on old-school High Fiber Cereal from Trader Joe’s, but that’s a story for another day 😉. If you struggle to come up with healthy and tasty snacks, breakfast, and lunch, this newsletter section will be gold.
Links I’m loving - If there’s a new food product that I'm freaking out over, a kitchen tool I can’t live without, or an article I feel is worth sharing, here’s where it will go! Just don’t blame me if your cart runneth over.
I’m sure that some of this will ebb and flow as I figure out what my gorgeous readers love and don’t love about Cyber Soup, but this is the general setup as of now!
All of this for $5/month or a one-time fee of $50 for the whole year. You can even gift a subscription if you know someone you think would enjoy it! Belated Valentine’s Day gift, perhaps?
I am so excited to go on this journey with you! I love connecting with people through food and writing and I know that this is the platform to do so. My vision is that my emails will pop up as you’re sipping on your morning coffee or enjoying your afternoon diet coke break and we can hang out for 10 minutes instead of perpetuating a mindless scrolling feedback loop.
A note on paid subscriptions
I, without a doubt, know that your money is well-earned and could go a million other places than to this newsletter. So, if you do think that you would enjoy this content enough to pay, I thank you so much. I promise to always provide you with worthy information, and take your constructive critique seriously so that every reader has the best experience possible.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to reach out! 🤟🏻 xoxo
